Caroline learned to paddle at Valley Mill Camp in her hometown of Darnestown, MD alongside DW founder Lily Durkee. She started competing in whitewater slalom at the age of 12 in the Midatlantic US and began competing internationally at age 14 splitting time between the Washington, DC and Charlotte, NC metro areas. She went on to be a 5x US National Team Member, 2x National Champion, and 2012 Olympian.   

She is earned a B.S. in Psychology from Davidson College and an MBA from Duke University. She is currently a management consultant living in Washington, DC. 

Inspired by Lily’s work founding Diversify Whitewater, Caroline joined the organization as a way to combine her passions for DEI, allyship, and kayaking.
