WHY GIVE?
We cannot deliver on our mission without the support of donors and volunteers. We are always eager to expand our community of supporters and look forward to connecting with you.
Since our founding, Diversify Whitewater’s (DW) free events have been successful in getting diverse individuals and communities exposed to paddling – we have supported over 1,500 participants over 43 free paddling events in 15 US states and have given over $20k to other support mission-aligned programming at other organizations (e.g., Grand Canyon Youth, Zoar Outdoors, etc.) through our scholarship program since our founding in 2020.
COST EFFICIENCY & COMMUNITY INVESTMENT
DW programs are delivered through a highly efficient model that combines direct funding with substantial volunteer-supported instruction.
Across all programs, trained volunteer instructors provide hands-on instruction at a ratio of approximately one instructor for every three participants, supported by volunteer leaders who coordinate planning and logistics for each event.
SINGLE DAY EVENTS
$20 in direct funding →$110 in total participant value
Our single day events typically serve 45–60 participants and require 15–20 volunteer instructors. These programs require approximately $20 in direct funding per participant, while leveraging approximately $90 per participant in volunteer instruction and leadership support.
MULTI-DAY PADDLING PROGRESSION PROGRAMS
$80 in direct funding → $630 in total participant value
Our multi-day paddling progression programs provide intensive skill development across six or more days of instruction and typically serve 20–25 participants. These programs require approximately $80 in direct funding per participant, while leveraging approximately $550 per participant in volunteer instruction across multiple days.
Together, this model creates a powerful multiplier effect, with each dollar invested in Diversify Whitewater programming generating approximately 4–6 times its value in community-supported instruction and leadership.
